Volunteering
A volunteer is someone who works for a community or for the benefit of environment primarily because they choose to do so. The word comes from Latin, and can be translated as "will" (as in doing something out of ones own free will). Many serve through a non-profit organization – sometimes referred to as formal volunteering, but a significant number also serve less formally, either individually or as part of a group.
Volunteering comes in many forms: serving food at the local homeless shelter, providing computer technical support to a non-profit organization, acting in a capacity for a charitable organization.
We need you for:
Box Collections
One of our streams of revenue is through Box Collections that enable us to raise a lot of money. We are always in need of volunteers to help us collect; normally over a one or two hour period. The collections are in the local area so travelling is minimal.
Fundraising Events
Throughout the year we organize a number of Fund raising events, these events need a lot of preparation and work on the day and through experience we have found that many hands make light work – can you help?
Oxygen Therapy
We provide Oxygen Therapy and Physiotherapy ‘back-to- back’ the Oxygen Therapy requires fully trained operators to operate the Baro-Chamber. We are always in need of volunteers to help us run this valuable therapy.
The Therapy session lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, full training will be given so if you can spare a couple of hours in the week you would be very welcome
Other Needs
At various times of the year we hold special events and/or projects and need people to help with preparation, managing, and coordinating. If you are a willing helpful person then help us to help those people who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. If you think you could help, we would love to hear from you.
